This article is about the Chapel dedicated to the 3rd Archangel, which completes the trilogy of Archangels in Fort Bonifacio/BGC.
ST. RAPHAEL THE ARCHANGEL CHAPEL is a place of worship located at the very classy Venice Grand Canal Mall in McKinley Hill, Taguig City. It is named after the Archangel Saint Raphael, whose name means “Medicine of God”. Thus this Chapel completes the trilogy of the Archangels in Fort Bonifacio/BGC, with St. Michael the Archangel Parish in North Bonifacio Triangle and St. Gabriel the Archangel Chapel in Uptown Mall. The St. Raphael the Archangel Chapel was solemnly blessed and dedicated on December 2, 2019 (Monday). It was presided by the Bishop of Pasig, the Most Rev. Mylo Hubert C. Vergara, D.D., concelebrated by the Parish Priest of St. Michael BGC, Rev. Fr. Pedro Enrique “Betbet” Rabonza IV, JCD, and other guest Priests. Also present in the occasion was the Megaworld Development Corporation, with the CEO of Mega Lifestyle Malls, Mr. Kevin Tan. In his Homily, Bishop Mylo addressed the faithful to keep this Chapel as a place of prayer, healing, and authentic giving. Towards the end of the celebration, Mr. Kevin Tan thanked the Parish of St. Michael BGC for giving him an opportunity on such projects that bring convenience to the people’s spiritual needs. This Chapel is a gift to the Venice Grand Canal Mall community (shoppers, employees, workers, and residents of McKinley), so that they may find a vast space for gathering and time with the Lord. In the same way, Fr. Betbet thanked Mr. Tan and Megaworld for the efforts of bringing the people closer to God and strengthening the faith in the midst of corporate settings. This Chapel is an essential landmark in the whole McKinley area that in the midst of so many businesses, entertainment, and lifestyle there, it is necessary for a place of worship and reflection. Evidently when pics of the St. Raphael Chapel were posted by the mall’s Facebook page, it gained many good reactions and positive comments. Everyone was very thankful that there is now a place of worship in one of their favorite malls. For the residents along the McKinley area, they were also very thankful that there is a Chapel near their vicinity, so that near them, they can find time alone with God and even participate in the Holy Eucharist.
